Yesterday, enroute to Osoyoos we came upon nine Mountain Goats  grazing  on the lower slopes of Wildhorse Mountain, quite near the highway. There were six adults and three kids in the group.

We see goats along this stretch of the highway quite often but usually they are much higher on the mountains. It is an abundance of green forage at lower levels that have brought them down near the highway. They look quite shaggy, as they are still shedding their heavy winter coats.
